The 3rd Changi Aviation Summit was held on 1 – 2 February 2026, hosted by the Singapore Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. The summit, held in conjunction with the Singapore Airshow 2026, was a gathering of about 350 government and industry leaders from over 50 countries.

The Director General of AAPA, Subhas Menon, spoke on a high-level panel titled “Re-designing Connectivity: Strategy, Networks, Business Models”, which examined evolving airline network strategies and business models amid changing market dynamics.

During the discussion, AAPA highlighted the parallel expansion of hub-and-spoke and point-to-point connectivity models, underscoring the continued importance of air transport as a socio-economic enabler for the Asia Pacific region. The discussion also addressed key industry constraints, including aircraft and engine supply chain bottlenecks, limited MRO capacity, and the need for closer collaboration between governments and industry to ease structural pressures.

The panel was moderated by Karen Walker, Chief Editor of Air Transport World and Aviation Week, and featured the following senior industry leaders: Director General AAPA: Mr. Subhas Menon, CEO Singapore Airlines: Mr. Goh Choon Phong, CEO Indigo Airlines: Mr. Pieter Elbers, CEO Rwanda Air: Ms. Yvonne Makolo, and the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, U.S. Department of Transportation: Mr. Daniel J Edwards.
